Hi, I’m Melanie (Mel), your Nature Makers provider for the Crawley, East Grinstead & Reigate area. 

 

I live in a rural location near East Grinstead and love being in this beautiful and most wooded corner of our country.  I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in woodland and am fortunate to own and manage a small woodland with my partner. 

 

I have a background in education with over 20 years experience of teaching, and school leadership across the primary age range including Early Years.  In 2012, I gained the Forest School qualification and have been delivering Forest School sessions ever since.  This has allowed me to share my love of the outdoors and of nature with the children and with colleagues, making learning irresistible by taking it outdoors and rooting it in the natural word.  I have an interest in bushcraft and primitive technologies and have learned and practised skills such as making natural cordage and tracking. I also love crafts and storytelling, both of which have featured strongly in my classes.

 

I am very excited to be able to bring all of these passions together as a Nature Makers, Mindful Makers and Earth School provider.
